Questions
Which metadata does this change?
Each field is written to EXIF, IPTC and XMP at once, so whichever standard an app reads, it finds the same value. Formats that have no IPTC block (PNG, WebP, HEIC) get EXIF and XMP.
Does editing keep my other metadata?
Yes. Only the fields you change are touched. Camera details, color profile and everything else stay as they were. To remove everything instead, use the remove AI metadata tool.
How do I delete a single field?
Clear it and save. An empty field removes that value from the image.
Does it change image quality?
No. ExifTool rewrites the metadata and copies the image data without re-compressing it.
Is my image uploaded?
Yes, because editing metadata safely needs ExifTool, which runs on our server. The image is sent over an encrypted connection, stored under a random name, and deleted as soon as you download the result, always within 30 minutes. We never look at, keep or share it.
